What? Describe how the pedel feels other than comparing it to your own brake pedal.

Does the clutch engage?

As long as it works it might just need to be broke in.

it feels like a brake pedal on any vehicle, the further down you push, the more resistance it gives and its really hard to push

What kind of clutch? Generally clutch pedels feel hard on new clutches.

if your release bearing was installed incorrectly, or is in a bind, the pedal will be rock hard...hope thats not the case, since it would involve pulling the transmission back out.
