Im some what new to the 240 community and had a question. i have a 95 240 with 161,xxx miles on it. I don't know if the clutch has been replaced and i think that is the problem. When i shift from first to second the clutch engages but the pedal is stuck down at the point where the clutch engages. so it doesn't come all the way up. when in second and some times third i will cruise at 2500 rpms and then jam the gas and the rpms shoot up to 3500 and then come back down as the car then accelerates. This makes me think its the clutch but i have no idea since this is my first 5 speed car. please help me. i need to get this fixed. Also if it is the clutch would u sugest going with a stocker or maybe an aftermarket. and how much does this cost.

looks like its time to replace the clutch. i would also go ahead and change the rear main seal. the clutch will have very squirly engagement, especially at first to second. the time that happened to me i realized the rear main seal was done for.

i doubt its a slave issue, unless the pin gets stuck or does not return. in any case, if you get your hands on a Z31 slave from the junkyard, go and get it. its a direct replacement and feels a little more firm.
