clutch problem maybe? or not? HELP

well i bought my 240 with the clutch slipping and i had a new clutch put in and now insted of just revving and not going anywhere........it just stops reving at like 4000 rpm..... but this is only sometimes.... when the car is cold it is fine until it gets hot , then it screws up... but then just whenever it will start pulling hard again (while its hot)..... and it really sucks cause my car is *** slow like 70% of the time im starting to think it may not be clutch related at all..... can anyone give me any advice at all? :help
