so over the last week in the morning my car has been very difficult to get into first gear. it would take a couple of minutes for the transmission and clutch to warm up and shift smooth. now we all know about this problem but had a different one this morning......when i put my clutch in to start my car i had it all the way to the floor and it wouldnt engage. i had to pump it a couple of times.....anyways i started it let it warm up for a while and when i tried to put it in first it wouldnt go...and i had the clutch to the floor...i literally had to slam it in gear...1st, 2nd, 3rd it didnt matter....after bout 10 min it went back to normal....i am lost. someone has to know what happened

have you already bled the clutch? when you said you had to pump it a couple of times, this is what immeadiately came to mind. i have seen that some have had to bleed the clutch, drive around for a while, then bleed it again.

this would be worth a shot. the transmission has a breather hose on it right, so i would assume that it does not need to be bled.

good luck

sounds like air in the system, which could be a number of things.i would suspect that the master cyylinder has gone bad so that may need to be replaced.i do away with the bleeder box completely as it is a pain to bleed properly and the pedal feel from a ss line is MUCH improved over the bleeder box.try bleeding the system again and if the problem returns then i would suspect that one of the cylinders has gone bad.

Nice to see you got it figured out. Was this on the RB swap or do you have stock drivetrain?

Cool. I've got the RB20 trans for some reason, so may use the same method if I have that problem.

despite what ppl think the rb20 transmission is plenty capable of handling power.its got the same basic design and internals as the ka/sr and those boxes have been shown to hold 450whp+.just be nice to it and dont bang gears and it will take the abuse.

I hope so, I'm planning on running 400whp through it...
