to get the pilot out you pack the cavity with gear grease, then take your clutch alignment tool, and break the ring off the end of it, place it in the hole and hit it with a hammer [multiple times], the gearse ont he inside will hydraulically push the bearing out, you just need to get the hole full of grease and not air
That method does work quite well, but I've never got it out with one strike. Hitting it with a 2 lb mallet worked great for me, about 7-8 wraps with the mallet got the bushing out.
If that doesn't work you can rent a pilot bushing puller from AutoZone or any auto parts place that loans tools. It's a slide hammer with tiny jaws to pull the bushing out from the inside.
2nd on the needle bearing, not worth it IME.
