ok so while i was installing my new brakes/lines, i saw that my fluid in my clutch master cylinder was BLACK. so while i had the car up on jackstands and lots of brake fluid, i might as well flush it out. once i got all the old fluid out and bled it, the clutch pedal wouldnt hold pressure. it worked fine before i did this, and no air was coming outta the bleeder.

so i went and bought a new master and slave cylinder from advance auto parts. put them in, and bled it again, and still wasnt working. i even put a tube over the bleeder into a cup full of brake fluid until no bubbles came out. the lines and hoses appear to be fine, but the pedal doesnt return, it just stays on the floor. i even unhooked it from the clutch pedal and pushed the rod myself, and its stiff, so i knowit has pressure.

ive bled brakes and clutches a bunch of times before, so i dont think im doing anything wrong, its pretty simple. im thinking theres something wrong with the actual pedal. im gonna let it sit over night and try it again tomorrow, im too fed up to work on it right now

you kept that dastardly damper loop in the system didn't you? Pull that thing out of the system, bend the hardline a bit if you need the car asap (or order a stainless clutch line with the extra length to get around bending stuff to make it fit the now -damper loop) and bleed it that way. Much easier to bleed and to get better feel.

Other thing, did the part that holds the actual pedal break from the part of the braket that holds the pedal to the firewall? This has happened to me before and it's not fun to deal with.

yea, i did keep that dampner thing in there. actually, i didnt even know my car had a clutch dampner, let alone what one one cuz i've never seen one on any other car before. im gonna get the bender tool and do it today, cuz i didnt bleed that one screw.

that bracket didnt break off, i inspected the whole clutch pedal assembly.

i prolly could have saved not typing this post had i searched first(noob move, i know). if it wasnt for nico(yet again), my car would be sittin on jackstands for a few more days....

you dont need a line bender tool. just use your hand and bend it slowly. i did and i have no problems with it. just be careful and take your time.i had the same problem though, i replaced my slave and i couldnt bleed it so i took the damper off and bled it in like 5 mins tops.

Its bendable by hand my man, also did you benchbleed the master cyl? it can make the job alot shorter also the if its the dampener holding you up, once you bypass it, youll have the system bled within minutes. those boxes are worthless.
