I have a 1995 240sx. The clutch engages fine and disengages fine but it only comes back up about half way. If I just put my foot under it and tap it, it up it pops back up really easy. Do you have any idea why the clutch pedal is not returning to the position it is suppose to?

I had the same problem in my '89 Maxima. Check your clutch fluid. If that is not the problem, you may have a leak in you clutch master cylinder and possibly the slave. Check it a.s.a.p., I didn't and mine just stuck to the floor on the highway...not cool, scary as hell. If one of the two are leaking, it's best practice to change out both.

Had the same problem about 2 months ago. Turned out to be a bad slave cylinder. Try bleeding the system (search if you don't know how, there are plenty of tutorials) and if that doesn't work, I would check into the cluch master and slave as BlakDragOn9 stated. GL

Thanks for the input! I will try both of your suggestions. I think that my clutch might even be responsible for my engine not starting sometimes. I could not get it started last weekend and it was determined that I needed a new battery but just a few minutes ago my car would not start again. I think it is the sensor to show that the clutch pedal is engaged. I can't think of anything else that it can be. The battery, alternator and starter are fine. What do you guys think?

ehhh the clutch probably wouldn't cause that. If you look under the dash above the clutch pedal, you can see the switch that the pedal hits to engage the starter. If you really want to see if that is the problem, there is a way to disconnect that switch so you can start the car without the clutch being pressed. I'm not too sure how to do it but I'm sure someone else can help you out.
