I was driving my car on the free way and went to down shift since traffic was slowing down and i heard a pretty loud pop and my clutch stuck to the floor. it never disengaged so i would have to shift by reving just right for each gear. as im pulling off the high way i was trying to keep rollin so i wouldnt have to turn it off and start it back up and i heard another pop and my clutch then started to disengage like usual except that it felt totally burnt out. i just replaced it a year ago.

I get it home and take it apart and see that the clutch plate is totally bear on the one side to my flywheel and the other is in perfect condition. so i go get a new clutch kit and resurface the flywheel. i put it back together and the clutch now sticks to the floor, i have to pull it up with my foot and it stays engaged no matter if the clutch is down or up. the slave seems to work fine. it might be that there is air in the line or possibly the fork wasnt secured properly, could that cause it? well any help is appreciated.

oh yeah its a 93 hatchback

The master cylinder could be toast. What color is the fluid in the reservoir? If it's grey, your MC is probably dead.

its not grey, but more of a rust brown. would that also mean the master went out? the slave seems to be fine but if im replacing the master ill replace the slave also along with the hard to flexy hose trick to drop the dampener out of the equation. the only resistence i feel in the pedal seems to be solely the spring, which would seem to point to the master cylinder also.

and also the slave cylinder is working properly when the pedal is pushed so it seems the fork wasnt installed correctly, so here i go to take it back apart, wish me luck.....
