Clutch pedal questions

I have an auto to manual s13 hatch and it seems like the pedal travels a huge distance. I was wondering if it would be alright to take the mc out and spin that fork piece back. By doing this I would have to push the clutch pedal in more upon installation. However, I feel like the pedal would be constantly pulling on the mc shaft. If anybody knows any alternatives to a stiffer and shorter clutch pedal that would be great. Someone already suggested a sohc slave but the one on it has like 80 miles on it. Btw there is no dampener on it either.

You should be able to adjust the travel.
