Clutch pedal pops and clicks....

hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster here...

I searched and found a few somewhat similar but long lost topics on this, but recently the clutch pedal on my 07 S sedan (just shy of 40,000 miles) has started popping and clicking. It is smooth on the return but on about three out of every four shifts it pops when I first press the pedal and clicks the rest of the way down.

Just curious if anyone has had any troubles out of the 6-speed...

It might be worth checking the ball joint on the clutch rod where it attaches to the clutch pedal. So far no problems with my 09 with 30K miles.
