I have a 98 240sx 5sp and I've been having some issues with it. My problems started when my clutch pedal started squeaking. Most of the squeaking comes from the pedal, but some of it is coming from under the car, on the driver side. After the squeaking started, the car started to jerk after putting the car into a gear, as i ease off the clutch. The only way for me to avoid this is to really ease the clutch after putting it into gear. It doesn't do this all the time, but the problem is really scaring me. I checked the fluid and it was black so i went ahead and bled the system. After i bled it i didnt get any pressure on the pedal, and replaced the slave cylinder. Doing that got my car running again, but my problems continue. To make it worse, my engine light pops on and the code P0705 appears. The code is for a neutral safety switch. I dont believe that this switch would have anything to do with my jerk i get out of shifts, but it seems that i need to replace it. Is this the switch that is at the top of my clutch pedal that allows the car to be turned on? If anyone can help, it would really be appreciated. The whole squeak/jerk/switch problem is annoying and needs fixing. Thank you in advance.
