So I removed the short hardline, bent the longer one and connected it to the line that goes to the slave. After bleeding it a few times, it still feels soft and squishy. Now I think I have to replace my slave and master to get the stiffness back or I did something wrong.

Did anyone else remove the dampering and it was still soft?

I'm not sure what "soft" is supposed to feel like, but you should definitely feel a before and after difference after removing the dampener box. Although I went with a stainless clutch line setup, I would think the results should be similar. I hope this helps a bit.

Here were my impressions after removing the box + installing stainless line:

Before:"Springy" clutch pedal after giving it that initial push with your foot

After:Pedal effort seems to be the same. But I don't feel "springy-ness" in the pedal anymore. I feel like I have more direct/precise control of the clutch engagement.

I wanted my clutch pedal to be somewhat like my friends s14.. really stiff. It takes some force to push down the pedal all the way.

For mine, I can push it down easily without using any force but it still comes back up and I know when it engages. I just wanted my pedal to be more stiff.

get a act stage 3 clutch with extreme duty pressure plate. Good luck with that, the clutch pedal is so damn hard, my buddy went through two clutch master cylinders. Everytime the seals are busted out.

Whoops, I totally forgot to mention the clutch. I took out the stock SR clutch for the Exedy Stage 1 organic at the same time as putting in the stainless line.

So, I can't say what the removed dampener box + stock SR clutch combo feels like.
