I know I'm probably going to get flamed for this but i searched and couldn't find anything. To start off i have a 93 240sx, all stock 5 speed with 130k. Tonight my clutch pedal start to click, it only clicks once at the very beginning off pressing down on it and is pretty consistent. It sounds like it is coming from inside the car i looked and it seems to be coming from the master cylinder, anyone else have an experience like this? Also i have a pretty bad oil leak as in like 1 qt+ per every 2k miles, the problem is i have no idea where its coming from and i work full time and go to school full time so i have no time to get under the car and really mess around, but i needs to get fixed so i was just going to bring it to a mechanic, anyone have a ballpark estimate of what it's gonna cost to find and fix this,i know its hard without seeing the car or pics but the leak seems to be coming from the front of the engine but its not the valve cover since i replaced that gasket already so i'm guessing either front cover or main seal?

mine clicks all the time. i think its the return spring in the clutch pedal assembly or the nuetral safety switch making te noise. As fo ryour oil leak if your not goign to take a look for yourself to see what it is. the mechanic could tell you whatever he wants it to be. to make it worth his time... so not sure what that.s gonna run you

Mine clicks also, i don't worry about it anymore because i did my engine swap and it still makes that noise. I thought it was my pressure plate on the other clutch but apparently not.

Are you sure its not just the switch that tells your cruise control that the clutch is engaged? Pretty sure thats what you are hearing.

I believe there is one at the top of the pedal, so it knows if you start to press the clutch and disengages the cruise. At least there was one on my '89 I think.Maybe it's not technically on the clutch pedal assembly. I don't know.

But here is a thread with some discussion about the switch. Third post down.

But as far as your sound goes, I think it's going to be either the spring, or maybe a bushing. Mine does it once in a while for like a day, then it goes away for a week or two.

Uh...yea there is. Its not on the clutch arm but it is on a bracket in front of the clutch. Its a neutral switch which ties into the cruise. It makes a clicking sound when you first push the pedal to disengage.
