was driving my car then I couldn't put it in any gear... clutch pedal felt like nothing..... Got home and checked my reservoir and still was full...... so I went under my car looked and the cylinder on the box and didn'y see any sign of oil leak.. So I decided to bleed the cylinder... loosened the valve and kept pumping the clutch after a few times I closed the valve but it only stiffened the clutch a little bit...... what is the procedure to bleeding a clutch?? cause there is like another point where I can bleed the clutch... Could use some help

Thanks

Doug

The little box under the car, the other place you can bleed the clutch from...not the slave cylinder, usually causes problems and is usually bypassed. You can do this by getting a stainless steel braided clutch line, or you can go the cheap way and disconnect the line at the box and carefully bend the line comming from the master cylinder twords the slave cylinder and connect them directly.

And another thing, When you said you bled the clutch line you said you loosened the valve and kept pumping the clutch. If this is true you are doing it all wrong, you need to have the valve closed, pump the clutch and keep it compressed when you open the valve, until you close the valve can you release the clutch pedal.

If none of these work then it might sugguest that your master cylinder is going bad??

Hope this helps a little.

ok I did this this morning..... clutch did get a bit harder but still won't get into gear..... I bleeded the slave plus the little square thing.... several times...... so what could be wrong?? or do I have to keep on bleeding?? or might the master cylinder be bad?? cause when engaging and disengaging the clutch I can see the slave cylinder moving.... i;m clueless here

thanks for the input guys

like I mentioned above, I have had alot of problems with bleeding the clutch due to the factory clutch dampener, which is the little square thing, I would seriously suggest bypassing it with a stainless steel braided clutch line, or bending the end of the line from the master cylinder twords the slave cylinder and connecting them together, they both screw into eachother.

Hope this helps.

You and I have the same problem and about the same mods except I have a S14 and Exedy Stage II clutch. I bypassed the damper w/o a SS line but it was still no good. I think master is at fault so I'm replacing that and the slave while I'm at it, also going to use a SS line. Will let you know how it goes.
