OK all you 240 gurus, I have a puzzle. My son bought a 1992 240sx. We just pulled the clutch and flywheel to replace. the flywheel was trashed, couldn't be repaired.
The standard 1992 240sx flywheel from the local parts store doesn't fit. The original flywheel has an extra alignment hole. I did find a used flywheel that works.
Likewise the clutch and pressure plate we bought doesn't fit the flywheel. I finally managed to match the old pressure plate to a 92 Stanza clutch kit. The throwout bearing matches the 240sx kit.
Could the wierd flywheel/clutch come from the factory? Or did someone drop a different engine in? The previous owner had it for 10 years with the same engine. Any difference between a 240sx and Stanza engine? SHould I use the 240sx throwout bearing?
