1985 Nissan King Cab 720 pick-up
5 spd trans

Today as i moved my truck, I put my truck in reversed and moved it just a couple of feet and I still held the clutch in and as i went to reverse a little more the clutch seemed like it was sticking and all of a sudden the truck was hard to put into gear! i had problems putting the truck into first gear or any gear and when i was able to. I tried to put the truck in reverse and the gear would grid.. once i pumped the clutch pedal the clutch would work fine, but as i held the clutch in for awhile the problem would happen again. I've tried changing the clutch fluid and i bleed it properly, still problem occurs. Is the Clutch Master Cylinder Bad or does my Clutch need to be replaced? CAN ANY ONE HELP ME!

sounds like either the clutch master cylinder or the clutch slave cylinder.

Thanks for the info.
I just replaced the clutch slave and it doesn't seem to fix the problem and i don't have and pressure on the clutch. im pretty sure its the clutch master cylinder. got one on order and will see if that will fix my problem. I got my fingers crossed!

I've had the same symptoms as 808countryside. However, after installing clutch kit (clutch plate, pressure plate, and throwout bearing) installing a new master and slave cylinder I still can't get a clutch. There doesn't seem to be enough movement in the clutch control lever. Also, my tranmission spins in nuetral even with the new plates. Any suggestions?

When you say spins exactly what do you mean. Depending on the grade of oil you're using the rotation of the engine would be transmitted to the wheels but would not be enough to move the truck. As concerns the clutch, if there is no pressure the master needs servicing or changing. Is there any fluid leaking from the slave?

Yeah, it turns the transmission and when I had the drive shaft hooked up it turned the wheels. I guess I thought that of what you said but it seemed like they were spinning too fast for it to be normal. No leaking, both the slave and the master are new.

Then you need to bleed the system again. The master first, then the slave. It may take a while but it will eventually work. Mine took a half day to function.

Got my problem fixed by (my Dad's idea) pushing on the clutch arm to push in the slave cylinder piston and bleed it that way. There was a lot of air in the slave cylinder an little by little she started to come out. Thanks for all the advice.
