Can the S12 CA clutches be used with the s13 CAs? I was browsing thru Summit Racing's website and ran accrossed this:

http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku

Is this a worth wide investment or shoud I go with the Exedy or ACT clutches?

dude, im sure this has been covered before. the search button is more massive and rampant than ever now too! though im sure it still turns up no results no matter what you search for...

anyway, i believe you need the s12 starter and/or flywheel or something. it just doesnt seem worth it when so many places make s13 ca clutches. also, i think the ka24de and sr20de clutches work with less effort than the s12 ones.

the easiest thing to do? what i tell people. everything from my crank to my driveshaft is SR20. the flywheel bolts, the flywheel, the clutch disk and plate, and an s14 SR gearbox, still using my CA18DET starter. some poeple swear it cant be done. well it can and it works great. all the parts were free for me so i thought i would try it. payed off.

The clutch and pressure plate are direct bolt-ons to the ca18det. The only reason why the flywheel doesn't work is because of the gearing, and it's got a different bolt pattern so it won't bolt up.

I know this for a fact because I'm an S12 owner and am using a ca18et clutch kit.

Cool beans. I attemped a search before I posted, but I must not be using the right combination of words or maybe just too many words in the search. Could be one of those "I suk" moments also. I was certain that you guys have all the answers, I just wanted to be sure before I go spending some money and end up having to spend it again to correct an avoidable mistake. Thanks.

so the easiest thing to do is get a clutch from an S12 and it'll bolt on fine to the S13 ca flywheel?

yes.

I suggest getting an aftermarket/performance clutch tho. The ca18et(that came in the S12) is only about 135hp...so the holding pressure of the clutch doesn't need to be that high.

Or just buy a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch for the KA and drill out the last hole on the pressure plate for the alignment pin (or remove the pin from the flywheel).

Is center force the only company that makes a performance clutchfor the ca18et?

get a clutch for the ca18det. if you cant find one. i was suggest getting an sr flywheel and clutch. even the stock one is nice. mine grabs like hell. its a 240mm disk instead of 225mm so even a stock one is a setup. not to mention sr clutches are everywhere.

SPORT, "FIBER-CARBON" SPRUNG HUB CLUTCH DISC Composite "Fiber-Carbon" material offered in steel backed facing and buttons as a great replacement for stock clutch disc in performance vehicles for long service life. This will hold up well to fast starts and high RPM.The "Fiber-Carbon" buttons offer crisp engagement characteristics. It interchanges with the stock disc and can be used with any of ClutchNet pressure plates. It is a great Heavy Duty clutch disc for street racing.
