I just realized that my coupe makes a chattering noise when I put it in neutral and let off the clutch.

As soon as I depress the clutch, the noise goes away. Any suggestions?

Hey Sentientbydesign

Sounds like a throwout bearing to me?How many miles are on your vehicle? Is it under warranty? If so get a estimate from the dealer as well as a quote from a reputable Clutch/Transmission shop.If you don't have AAA, get it & do nothing until it goes. With a AAA Plus membership they give you 100 miles of free towing as well as other services. Also keep in mind that if you do decide to just replace the throwout bearing you may as well replace the clutch & pressure plate at the same time. (Also hope that there are no flywheel issues also or its more $$$) So just to get rid of the noise is going to end up costing you some $$$$

This topic has been discussed over the years and most if not all have this issue. It is completely normally and nothing to be alarmed with. You could have the dealer check it out, but they are going to tell you the same thing. As long as your car is shifting properly and not grinding gears or the clutch is slipping, carry on.

Ok, I'll take your word for it.

I might take it to the dealer for a check. I'm not sure. It has 43,000 on it.

Thank you.
