My clutch master cylinder isn't working right now and I was wondering if that's normal when it's been sitting a while, and do I have to get a new one? Thanks.

sure its not the slave cylinder. or your line broke? what symptoms are you getting? do you have fluid? their may be an air bubble... how long was it sitting?

I never disconnected any of the hydraulic components for the clutch, it's been sitting for 5 or 6 months, the fluid level was low but not empty, and the petal just springs to the floor and has to be pulled back up by hand.

Don't got much of the bucks, that would definately be the way to go otherwise. My front clip has one but it has the same problem.

its not expensive compared to trashing a transmission becuase your clutch never disengages all the way(dont ask how i know). I think I paid a whopping $55 total $20 for the steel line shipped, $15 for the master, and another $20 for the slave.

Just do it.

Where did you get all the parts from?

It might be a good idea to try to bleed it before you buy new parts, sounds like you just had a small leak somewhere.

Yea, I'd try and find the leak first. It's prob a small crack in the rubber line. If you can't find it, I would replace both the clutch master and slave cylnders and get the braided line for sure regarldess.

its soo easy to do also, with basic hand tools it took me about 2 hours to do it and that included bleeding and bending the stock line to bypass that damper box. I'm confident I could do it again in under an hour.

Also the parts are found at any local auto parts store or on the internet.
