clutch master cylinder cap

the cap for my clutch master cylinder is not snug on the reservoir, i'm wondering if the cap is prone to failing such as rubber seals/rings shrinking etc. or does the reservoir need to be replaced as well?

just went to the dealer and got a new cap, apparantly, the last person messing with the clutch master cylinder must've used the wrong cap or nissan redesigned their clutch master cylinder caps because the one i bought from the dealer looks different, has a different gasket, and fits tightly.
