I found posts on clutch problems but none on clutch limits.

What HP/ torque can a good, low mile stock clutch handle?

What HP/ torque do the popular aftermarket clutches handle?

Looking for experience, not manufacturers claims.

when you buy a clutch you make sure the manufact. specs are higher than what you plan on making in ft. lbs of torque. It's not a rule you have to follow but it's a good idea to give yourself more room to work with in the future.

BTW. ACT clutches are rated low in terms of holding torque. They are great clutches and hold more than they claim.

lb-ft...

also probably right around there, most people with mild builds run act street or whatever its called, i think that holds like 270 lb-ft

i plan on getting an rps next summer, the heavy street one holds 400 lb-ft, should be plenty for me

My stock clutch started slipping in every gear at around 9 psi from a T3 super 60...

But when outside of boost, the clutch worked perfectly--still released from right off the floor and engaged fine...

I have an ACT street clutch right now and couldn't be happier with it...it's only rated for like 275 lb-foot of torque, but apparently people have made up to 420rwtq with it, no problem. Good clutch that combines easy driveability with performance...

I just replaced my Centerforce "Duel Friction" clutch with an ACT Extreme PP and a street disk. I'm told that is a great set up but haven't had it on the street yet. The Centerforce is a piece of crap. It started slipping the first time I had it out and only got worse. I finally had to pitch it.

It's ft-lbs, not lb-ft. (when talking about engine torque)

The other way around (lb-ft) is talking about things like torque wrenching a bolt.

Brand new stock clutch can't handle 3 psi.BTW. I'm looking for new clutch too.

My stock clutch held 215ish whp. (10psi on a small turbo). However, if I dumped it hard, it would slip. It would NOT slip when I was @ 190whp.

I'm about to do a writeup on the Ebay XTD Stg 3 clutch kit.

mine (small T3) does slip at 3 psi. We even tested it multiple times. It sucks.

(I heard XDT clutchs are horrible. some says he did 12k out of it, some say did only 3k out of that stage 3 clutch)
