got the car started and was making a squeeling sound when the clutch was engaged so i went to put it in gear to attempt to move it and nothing, it wouldnt go into gear at all

when i had the transmission off i had replaced the throw out bearing and replaced the stock clutch/flywheel assembly with an os giken twin plate clutch but i didnt replace the slave cylinder with a stronger one

what im wondering is why wont the car go into gear, could it be that i have something wrong with the clutch? or anything else

goes into gear fine when car is not running

did you use the TOB/release sleeve that OS Giken recommends?

sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging correctly. do the easy stuff first...is the pedal bled right? is the pedal adjusted properly?

see what happens when you try to start the car in gear with the clutch pedal depressed. if you move forward then obviously the clutch is not disengaging all the way. might need the os giken TOB/sleeve

Sounds like a good way to waste a bling clutch...

I just put a dual plate OS Giken in my car after my rebuild. I replaced my throw out bearing and carrier with the ones recommended by OS Giken. I believe they're from an old Nissan truck. But anyway, the bearing is much smaller in diameter and presses on the pressure plate in the correct place. If you're running the stock RB25 throw out bearing and carrier, you're going to have trouble in the future, plus your clutch is going to be much heavier at the pedal than it should be.

before the slave cylinder gave out, after the clutch was adjusted it felt great and was shifting great, no more pressure needed to push the clutch then a stock clutch, thats all figured out now

im just wondering if i need a nismo slave cylinder or if the one that came on my engine was on its way out. i dont wanna have to spend some money on a stock replacement and then that not work out and have to buy the more expensive one anyways

and does the rb nismo slave cylinder say nismo on it. i was looking at one and the guy was selling it as nismo but it doesnt say nismo on it
