Hey,

Im brand new here and I just purchased a 1992 240 about 3 days ago. I got it towed to my place because there is currently no clutch.

I am quiet confident it isint actually the clutch though as the pedal does hit the ground right away, but the old owner told me it just stopped working all of a sudden one day and that he had never had problems with it before.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction in terms of evaluating the problem...I am thinking perhaps a hydraulic line leek or leek from master or slave cylinder or perhaps it is the clutch and does require a change. But I am just looking for some direction here.

Any help will be much appreciatedThanks in advance,Paul

You are right on. Unless the clutch fork is also broken. I'd check the fluid, if there's plenty, then probably the master, if it's low or empty, probably leak or bad slave cylinder. That's an absolute steal if that's the only problem with it.
