ok this is one challange for me...I own a 96' Nissan Maxima 5-speed 3.1 6 cylinder...one night my clutch let loose..i had no pressure after work...filled it with brake fluid drove fine...woke up one morning had the same issue..fluid was fine...figured it was the clutch master cylinder so i replaced it......only recieved an inch of pressure, not enough to get it into gear..oh it's also a hydrolic clutch...so i then proceeded to replace the slave cylinder...bled it out...nothing....so i had someone get in the car and pump it up while i held the forks off the slave with a pry bar...when i let the pry bar go i seemed to hear (and feel on the master clutch cylinder) like air had flown out of the master...yet the master was dry everytime i went to work on it...no fluid leaking and when i felt the air there was no fluid spewing out...i am stumped..my father has been a diesel machanic for 20 something years and can't even figure it out...if someone could help me i would greatly appreciate it..

There are two bleeder valves for that car one on the slave and one up right on top of the strut tower mount. If I remember correctly anyway. I replaced my slave a few months ago and after trying to bleed it for an hour and getting really nowhere I found it is best to get a syringe with a rubber hose or something and actually push the fluid up the line. If you think about it it makes more sense. Bleeding it the regular way whenever you stop the air bubbles are going to slowly float back up the line. But if you push the fluid from the bottom out it gets all the air out.

and the air noise you heard could have just been the rubber jacket on the slave cylinder. Its a pretty tight seal around that rod so the air could have just been squeezing past as it went back in. that's just my guess though.
