I went to a shop to see how much it would cost to replace the clutch and the owner told me $480. Is that a decent deal? I called another place and they wanted $600.

And when they replace the clutch, do they have to replace the master cylinder or can it still be reused?

The entire clutch assembly probly costs them a little under $100 for an OEM replacement, just FYI. And the cylinders should be fine. Why don't you do it yourself? Granted it's not the easiest or most fun thing to do, but it'll save you almost $500 apparently.

If the 480 includes parts its not too bad. I would look for quotes and ask people about trusted mechanics. Maybe you can even find someone who wants to make some money and change out a clutch. It shouldn't take more than 2 hours to change a clutch out, 3 at the max, for an experienced person.

DIY is the way to go. My brother and I did mine, in my garage with ramps and jack stands, it's a pain to do but, overall a smooth problem free install.
