I believe it's called the clutch position switch or something. If the system is anything like the one in my '93 240sx, it's a crude button/switch that gets pressed when your clutch is pressed down all the way.

Crawl under the dashboard and take a look see at the clutch pedal area, your previous owner might've bypassed it.

If it's an auto to manual swap, you'll have to the find the wire and install a switch yourself.

Also, it might be named "Neutral safety switch".You'll need to find the wire though, I have no idea where the wire starts from, but you'll need to trace that wire out and hook your switch up to it.

Have you tried junkyards? If you're luck you might find a Pathfinder there with the switch you need.I wonder if the switch from other Nissan vehicles work on your Pathfinder....

It is indeed called the clutch interlock switch. Refer to page 4 here.

Junkyard, or a dealer. Or you may be able to figure something generic to work. I think it's a normally open push button.

You do need to find where the previous owner bypassed it. Hopefully theyused the original switch wiring which you could attach to the generic switch. If they dumbly cut the main harness, you are going to have to do some splicing.

Nissan may have used the same switch in most everything with a stick. Itwould be nice to have access to a parts book to check.

Chuck
