Hi Folks,

Another small electrical problem with my '03 Coupe! The clutch interlock system for start-up now works intermittantly. Know it's primarily just closing a switch mounted to the pedal box to complete a ground. Can I just bypass the switch completely? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It might be easier to just replace the switch...probably inexpensive.

Kind of weird that it is acting that way. Normally it works or it stops working, usually no inbetween. What is it doing exactly? Just no sound from the starter? Would just want to make sure that it is just the clutch switch before replacing it.

Biggie,

Sometimes I have to depress the clutch pedal five or six times before the engine turns over. Once it begins to turn over, it always starts. Thought bypassing the switch was the easiest way. Then it occurred to me the switch is an intermittant contact not a constant contact. Replacing it might be the least expensive way. If the problem persists, then a service visit might be necessary to possibly "read" a fault code (I hope). Have you heard of tis problem before?

Haven't heard of it on Gs before. But most cars eventually run into for some reason or another on that switch.

Biggie,

Think it's fixed. Took a self adhesive rubber "foot" and attached it to the backside of the pedal actuator pad. Works every time now. Is there a bigger problem? Don't know but for now I'm happy.
