Don't be lazy and do it right. I almost did the exact same thing, and noticed as we were putting the trans in. If you decide to cut it, cut the top of it, not the bottom as water and dirt will be able to get in easier.

i did the same thing and i was able to slip it over the flywheel without cutting or bending it badly.

but i have a HKS GD Pro Twin Plate. I don't know if that makes any difference in being able to get the gasket/plate around it.

it's 6 bolts. not that big of a deal. just pull the flywheel off.

and as far as the pressure plate goes, so long as it isn't a special pressure plate, just tighten it by feel. And if you're threadlocking everything, exact torque numbers aren't needed.

Same thing with the trans. Just tighten the bolts down by feel and let it go.

If you absolutely have to have the torque specs, go download an FSM (conveniently linked in our FAQ sticky) and you'll have your torque specs.

1.Pressure plate bolts get 25-33ft lbs

2.transmission to block bolts get 51-59ft lbs for the large ones and 22-29ft lbs for the smaller bolts..
