Yeah, Id drain the transmission fluid. No telling how long its been in there. Make sure when you refill it you only use GL-4 rated fluid and not GL-5 (It will eat the brass synchros in the transmission) Id recommend Redline MT-90 buts its hard to find local though.

For guides I would use the s14 sr20det FSM (essentially the same except for the wiring) found here http://www.zeroyon.com/index/content/view/24/47/

Check clutch replacement on this FAQ http://www.240sx.org/faq/index.html

And maybe the Heavy Throttle Swap FAQ will help out as well. http://srownersclub.com/faq/index.asp

It helps to have a spherical U-joint for those hard to reach bolts on the bellhousing... That and a looooooooooooong extension. For me, that was the hardest part... trying to get the bolts that are at the very top of the bell housing.. what a biotch...

I just installed a new clutch kit on my 95 240Sx yesterday. In order to gain access to those top bolts on the bell housing I rotated the engine several inches. Its actaully very easy to do. First I unbolted the transmission support brackett. I supported the transmission with a stand. Then I unbolted the exhaust supports barcketts . You may be able to just remove the posts from the rubber grommets. Dont unbolt the exhuast from the manifold. The exhaust will be cantilevered. Have your buddy apply alittle downward force and this will rotate the engine forward about five inches giving you lots of access to those top bolts. It may also be helpful to just loosen the engine motor mounts. I hope this helps you...
