I am need of a new clutch and need recommendations.

My car is a 1973 Datsun 1200 2 Door Sedan with a KA24DE without Electronic Injection and with a Supercharger so I call it a KA24DR. I run twin Weber Down Draft 32/36's through a Eaton M62 Supercharger. Forged internals with Crower Stage 2 Cams.
Narrowed Ford 8.8 Rear with 4.30 gearing. I finish it off with 125 HP shot of Wet Nitrous.
Yes, this is a drag car.

I purchased a Spec Stage 3 6 Puck Clutch last fall which is rated to 380 flbs of torque but is now slipping in 2nd and 3rd gear. It does not slip when the nitrous is not on.
I do not know my Horse Power or Foot Pounds of Torque.
Looking for a good Clutch that will guarantee not to slip.
Thanks.
Ernie

Wow that's pretty impressive! I love your set up , full custom. OK now I know your serious. Well it all comes down to $$$

Like I said before white bunny = 400 hp holding
http://www.frsport.com/Competition-Clut ... 74189.html
best deal ever.

Or you could do what I'm calling a super White bunny which is a RB flywheel and a 300zx twin turbo or skyline clutch of your choice.

I personally have a Jim Wolf lightweight flywheel and a compclutch stage 4 350Z clutch which can hold 550ft lbs. But I spent over $1100 for that combo with shipping. I went all out because I kept nuking clutches even stage 5 kade ones ( don't waste your money on any clutch for the stock KA. The last stage 5 clutch I had only could handle 350ft lbs. It's because the KA uses a 225mm diameter disc. White bunny is 240mm and 350z is 250mm!

honestly tho if you got the scripts , I'd invest in a single plate like this

or even a twin plate. My next clutch might be a carbon single or a carbon carbon twin plate. I have yet to try my 350z combo yet but it looks twice the size of a KA one. Single plate will have less mass.

I don't know if you still care but I'd go with a RB20/25 lightweight flywheel and combo. Bolts right on.

Old post but new question.
Crushed the 5 speed tranny. Couldn't handle the HP so I'm switching gears. Installing a 2 speed GM Powerglide and am looking for any aftermarket Flexplates that can handle HP. Custom 3000 stall converter already built and in the process building the adaptor plate to mount a KA auto bell housing to the Powerglide.
What's the Max HP on a stock Flexplate and anything out there better?

Not to sure but 9sec240 Ivan did that. Search for his threads. This might help too.

There is a company that puts the Ford C4 trans on a KA. They might have powerglide stuff. Just gotta search.

What's your et and stuff. You never answered last time. I think your car is so cool!

All is good and your setup looks good too but I'm done with clutches and flywheels. Automatic is the way to go.
I have only been running the 1/8th mile at 6.98 being the fastest time. With the auto, I will have more consistent times.
I have a friend that is going to build me an adaptor plate that will bolt to the pump. I will then use a KA automatic bell housing and bolt that to the plate. The torque converter is a KA24DE with Powerglide guts so it will fit perfect.
I talked with some folks and they said to stick with the stock flexplate. All the V8 power guys said that it will be fine.

Pictures of the powerglide and torque converter with KA bell housing.
Also the powerglide with the bell housing cut off and the KA against it.
When this is complete, I don't think Ill be breaking anything anymore. KA24DE + Powerglide + Ford 8.8 Posi Rearend.

Wow you got it all laid out nicely. I might want something like that laying around to swap in for drag racing lol. I like it.
