i have a 95 240sx ka24de and i was rolling in the freeway when i accendently didnt hit 4th gear correctly. Of course i herd the grinding noise of the clutch but then i instantly shifted to 5th. The clutch at times dosent return back and it feels soft i think it might have air in it. Also when i have it in 3,4, or 5th gear and i give it gas the rpm will go up and then go back sometimes i just give it gas and the RPM will go high but the car will slightly increase speeds not sure if my clutch is worn. So if theres anyone that can help i will appreciate it.

Yes that in theory would mean your clutch is fckd up.. I am having a similar problem with my 98 but i think i just need to bleed the clutch lines. Mine doesn't slip thg, it just sometimes stays down doesn't want to come back.. Pressure plate, and throwout bearing should be fine. Srry i meant you should try to bleed ur clutch line first and take it from there.

Hey yo just finished replacing everything on mine cuz I was having similar problems to yours. Make sure u check the adjustment on your clutch master cylinder rod. That will help place where the clutch engages. if not air in the lines make sure also to check the components of the the release mech peek thru the hole where the fork sticks out and have sum1 press it down. check for anything faulty, sounds or chattering.. last thing is unfortunatly dropping the whole transmission, only real way to Know for sure if problem still persists.

If the clutch slips like you describe it's either out of adjustment (for some reason) or it's worn out/toast. Try adjusting the clutch pedal. If it works you need to find out why it went out of adjustment, could be the valve in the dampener box not releasing the clutch completely.

It pedal adjustment doesn't fix the slippage put a new clutch in.
