OK, so as you may have guessed this is about my clutch. I've had my 93' hb for about a year. When I bought it the clutch was fairly weak and had some slipping going on most noticeably in 4th or 5th on the highway. When I floored it I'd get the usual rise in rpm's but not much accelerating goning on (the clutch obviously slipping). So, a year has gone by and I am still riding on the same clutch. It still get the slipping on the highways, and some while tooling around town. Does this sound like the clutch is actually going bad or that maybe it just need's bleeding or adjustment. It just seems to me like the clutch would have died by now. I am unable to spin the tires on a dry day, and never have been able to, the clutch will just slip.Aside from not being able to do any really hard starts, I drive the car pretty hard. Sorry this is so long, just looking for some insight.

Double check the clutch pedal freeplay. It's possible the clutch pedal may be preloaded slightly. But if all is well here, It might be that the clutch is just simply worn. Typically worn clutches extend the pressure plate too far and the pressure plate can't put down the full clamping force it could when new, but can probably still put some pressure on the disc.

Great, thanks for the help. I'll check out the play in the clutch, see if there's any preloading going on, and go from there.

Well, i was gonna ask almost the same question about my slipping clutch- but its slightly different...I bought the car about 4 months ago, and the guy i bought it from said he redid almost all the seals on the engine and replaced the clutch with an oem one(also resurfaced flywheel). after this- the car sat for about a year until i bought it. so he says the clutch was brand spainking new when i got it- maybe 25 miles on it. i drove it around for about a 100miles before i hit WOT, and the first launch was awful. i launched at about 3000 and the clutch just totally slipped. i have never been able to launch the car without it slipping, unless i launch at maybe 2000...pointless right? so yeah ive been pretty lost about that. every now and then, when i floor it through the gears, i can only do it one or two times- then the clutch become very slippy. another example is its slipped several times but not lately coming out of 1st. maybe the whole problem is that i have an oem clutch(or possibly cheap autozone one) and are expecting it to always grab. point being- it slips alot when i drive it hard, which is quite depressing to me. now im pressed on cash so im looking for the cheapest solution. but if i need a new clutch- ill go ahead and start saving. thanks alot guys. (and gals)

check out my edumicated guess on your thread.

It won't hurt to check the freeplay of your clutch pedal as well... don't know if the previous owner had done so after the clutch kit replacement job.
