Hi everyone. If any of you can help me out, it'll be sooooo apreciated !I have a 1992 240SX (Originally automatic - swapped manual) and I changed the clutch. The problem I have is: the cluch slip under hard acceleration, I tried to adjust the pedal-remove some liquid from the clutch line and nothing worked... The pedal moves about an inch without doing anything and then it disengage the clutch. What can I do ?

Car run fine other than that. The more I drive the car (since the clutch change) the more it seems to wear out !....

Alright first things first... Take the car to a parking lot or in front of your house if it's flat. With the car stopped put it in 3rd, 4th, then 5th.

The idea is to slowly let the clutch out, when you do one of 2 things will happen:

1: the car will start to stall, meaning the idle will drop and it may sputter.

2: the clutch will just slip, if this is happening it should be easy to tell when you do this cause it wouldn't hook up so it probly will not start to stall.

If 1 is what happenes then your clutch probly isn't slipping, and you have another problem.

If your not sure what to do, take it to a shop if you tell him what it's doing and let him drive it. They should be able to tell what it is.

Hope that helps...I'm a professional.

Good luck and anything else feel free to ask

I don't have to do that to know that the clutch slip! On the highway (In 4th or 5th) the rev goes nut going uphill. The real question is HOW can I fix this behavior ? What will make the car to roll on it's full power ?

One of two things: Either the clutch needs adjustment because it's not disengaging completely, or the clutch is toast for some reason.

If the clutch pedal moves 1" or move before doing anything it sounds like it's not an adjustment problem.

Can the master cylinder be the cause of the (floating) play in the pedal ? Meaning that it needs to be replaced ? It would make sense! The fact that it doesn't travel all the way in and out could explain why the cluch can't disengage completly.

The other problem could be the dampener box> dump it if you haven't already
