im stranded at my friends house and want to have this fixed by morning. i have a 90 240 and i cant get the clutch fork to stay in the transmission. i see there is like a metal spring thing built into the back but im not sure what that does. all i know is ill drive it for a day and it slides down and causes my slave to extend too far and leak and not engage the clutch obviously because it is not in properly. is there anything i can do to get it to stay? do i need to push hard and it will snap into place or am i going to need to take out the transmission? i can actually take the entire fork out. it was like this about a year ago when i replaced the slave cyl but i just pushed it in place and its worked fine till no. please let me know if anyone has a clu how to get the fork to stay put.thanksluigi

here go to one of my horrable old threads from the summer, when i was installing my clutch.

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....27820

here there are two diagrams, youll get the idea pretty quick how it goes together, just plz ignore the bright red scribbled text, and its not that hard to put it all together, i was having a severe brain fart while posting that. so ignore my ramblings.

the fork is held onto the release bearing sleeve by a holder clip, and the fork is held in place by a longer holder clip that goes behind a little pivot knob on the transmission. if either one of these falls off youve got trouble. you should be able to move the boot back a bit and peek in there to see if either of them fell off.

good luck, hope you dont have to drop the transmission.
