Well I take my car to the shop since I was fed up with it.They were supposed fix some electrical problems. The reason why the car wasn't running was because of a bad ground. And It was running crappy because of a POS hose on the IACV/Air regulator.

So they are almost done and then they go to move the car "Supposedly" and the clutch pedal goes to the floor. So they check the hydraulics and they're all fine. Then they pull the slave out and remove the rubber boot from the Clutch fork to find that the Clutch fork pivot ball has broken.........

I have a upgraded clutch in there, that doesn't have CRAZY Clamp load on it.I don't know how much it has but its a bit more than stock, plus I had the Fulcrum moved on it.This car has only been driven ONCE.I've probably stepped on the clutch to start it 100 times. Now is it that I have just that luck where they stepped on my clutch that ONE time to start the car and the Clutch Fork Pivot breaks?????????

On to the fix.

Well since I have Top Hat Mounts the whole Engine/Trans Package needs to come out to pull the Trans.I don't have a lift or a engine hoist, nor do I have the room to do this swap AGAIN!!!!!They want to charge me $800 to do this job, or $450 if they can just loosen the mounts and tilt the engine.

Is there any way of changing the Clutch Fork Pivot Ball without taking the trans off?????

At this point I'm soooo fed up with this car I just want to sell it.But.... I'm soo deep into this car that If I do sell it that I would be TOTALLY UPSIDE DOWN on the sale.

Any thoughts or Advice would be much appreciated!!!

labor always is a ***** price.

yeah, you do have to take the trans off. i would take the car back, sit on it or find someone that has a garage that can help you.

local forum maybe?

if you can get the car up high enough and your motor mounts have enough give you can tilt the engine and drop the transmission while the engine is still in the car. its a ***** but beats the alternative

most swaps dont give you enough room to allow this. i would buy or rent an engine hanger.

With this you can hang the engine and remove the crossmember and lower the engine enough to remove trans with out removing the engine.

One of my buddys sent me a link to SPLParts.comThey have a Forged Clutch Pivot Ball fo $25.But it does NOT say NismoAnd it is like half the Price of the Nismo oneDoes anyone know whats up with it?

I'm gonna leave it alone and just get the Nismo one because the Labor is a PITA to install, and i'm only gonna do it once.

Mott- Thank you!!!!You are a sexy Biatch!!!!

if you are going to do it on the ground instead of on a lift you can do it with jackstands also. Raise the car enough to get stands under the crossmember. Unbolt the crossmember then raise the vehicle enough to to pull out the transmission and support the body with another set of stands. jack stands are normally easier to come by and I.M.O. it is safer doing it this way since the engine isnt just hang there

the nismo clutch piviot is mad cheap from the dealer...most people dont realize that the ka pivot is the same one used on the rb20 trans and the z32 one on the rb25...

Oh ok cool.Good to know. Thanks carl

Mott- I dunno if I'm gonna do it at my house. My garage is small.pretty much there's only enough room to pull the car in close to one side so you can get out.

I'm going to see if I can pay someone for a garage to use their lift. This is a HUGE PITA since this will be the 3rd time I'm putting in and taking this motor out.

Either that or I might just tell this guy to use the engine hanger and pull the trans like that.

Cause he said $800 to pull the whole Engine & trans. $450 if he doesnt have to pull the engine.

If you want, I have an SPL pivot ball (KA / RB20) that is still sealed. I accidentally ordered the wrong one.

Has anyone actually came across this problem of the Clutch Fork Pivot BREAKING???I've seen these pivots on sale.I've heard about people putting them in.But I've searched the net breifly and have not found anything about one breaking.

I'm still in disbelief. This car has been driven 1 time. And it wasn't even raced or EVER clutch kicked.

And it doesnt have some Crazy Clamp load Pressure Plate in it....

I replied to your email last night. It is not Nismo, but SPL (Hardened Steel - SCM 435).

Yeah its ghetto as fock. But I'm not going to have to either pay $800 for them to put in a $35.00 piece or pay a guy $150 to let me use his shop to take my whole motor/trans out AGAIN for the 3rd time.

I can pick up another Rb20 trans for $200 bucks. And next time I have to pull the motor to change clutch I can put that trans in.

Lonestar- Did you find the piece??

Well it looks like I'll be taking the motor down once again....

They got the old pivot out and tried to get the new one in and they couldn't.So I've got some work on my hands.I'm gonna pay this guy to use his shop and yank the motor out.

So i'm gonna change the Front and rear transmission seal, and the Pivot. The clutch and Flywheel are brand new

Is there anything else I should change while I have the motor out??

The whole motor has been rebuilt, I used a whole nissan gasket kit on it already
