I've done a lot of different searching on the five speed swap. Some sites list that I need a clutch pivot ball and some don't. Honestly, I don't even know what either things are. However, should I worry about replacing either part?

Thanks in advance for answering. 12:15 after a long day of work, I'm not quite in the mood to figure out those small little parts.

The pivot ball is a bolt with a ball end on it in the transmission bell housing. It kind of looks like \\\>D that. It allows the clutch fork to pivot back and forth on it. If it is broken or looks worn. Replace it. I believe it is around $14 at a Nissan dealership. They do break easily. So if you can spare the money or if there are a lot of miles on the transmission I would recommend replacing it.

If you want a stronger pivot ball, I suggest one of SPLparts, I'm using one now.

You guys are the best. Hahah, getting a question answered completely in two replies is always nice.

But yea, I've seen pictures of it and always wondered why the crap they were so expensive. I'm doing the five speed swap, using the white bunny setup. Would you say a hardened one is needed for the extra force from the larger clutch? And I really don't plan on making too much power with the KA.

The other part I forgot to mention in the first post was the clutch fork. Any need to worry about that?

Clutch fork is pretty strong, no need to worry about that.
As for using a hardened fork pivot ball for the white bunny setup..
I'm not sure if the pressure plate you'll use requires more force than the stock one, but if it does, I'd definitely change it.
But even if it doesn't, I'd go ahead and change it anyways for the peace of mind.

The white bunny clutch setup claims to remain stock feel to it, so there must not be an excessive amount of pressure on the clutch fork. It is probably ok to use the stock, but hey, since the extra hardened one is only $29 why not. Plus it will probably (most likely) last you forever.
