I panned on getting the RPS Flywheel for my 1990 300zx TT. I looked up some clutched but im not sure what to get? i heard XTD Makes good clutches, How about Z1? i do want one that can hold a good amount of Torque/HP. I do want to be able to drive smoothly though.. So what do you think i should go with? SZ? any advice would be great. Purchasing on in a week or 2. thanks alot.

Lol nothing wrong with something that can hold more than needed. But if you wanted to save some money on a lower rated one I would look at southbend clutches. Joe at Zspeed I am sure could hook you up with something to fit your needs. As far as flywheels go i would go with the sz/rps over the fidanza as the segmented disk helps with heat dissapation and warping a lot better than a one piece friction ring. But both are good and unless your planning to be hard on the clutch ie launching etc i am sure you would be happy with either.

Do your research on xtd clutches, i think you will change your mind on wanting one.

This is cheaper than the the SZ high 5 but i would still call/email Joe at Zspeed to see if he can get you a better deal.

XTD is s***!, why do people insist on trying to go cheap with these cars, its not a funcking 89 civic its a 300zx, you gotta pay to play or your car will spend more time on stands than on the road. And a 5 puck (and any unsprung clutch) is gonna really suck for daily driving, no need for it unless this is going to be a designated track car.

The SZ high five clutch and flywheel combo is a solid performer.

Just trust us. We generally don't post stuff that's $800 when you can get something just as good for $400. If we don't post the cheaper stuff, there's usually a reason for it.

@ gsrteg, what did you wind up going with? I am having a difficult time choosing myself. Concept z has a JWT clutch/flywheel combo (comes with chromoly pivot ball and steel braided clutch line for $775 + $1 shipping. I would like to spend less than $800 if possible, but I do not want to compromise performance. The JWT is rated at 570 HP (I know its rated in torque but that is what the ad says), which I think is plenty for me for a few years as a DD. Upgrades are full intake and exhaust, larger intercoolers and mishimoto radiator, rebuilt turbos, forged rods and pistons. Maybe a litte too much info, I tend to babble.

I guess I'm just curious what you chose, your reviews, and if there is anything with similar price and quality as the JWT package.

Stock rebuilt turbos will never make 570hp so you should be good.
