I am trying to figure out what setup will give me the most power to the ground. so a light weight fly wheel maybe a fidanza. i was thinking mayeb an F1 clutch kit. and then a kaaz 2 way lsd. but i am trying to save a little bit of money where ever i can so i am trying to get good deals on these comparing differnt stores.

what would be a good set up for getting all my power to the ground. it will be for mostly street/strip racing. maybe some drifting if i get brave. lol

this is just an open thread dont mind other people asking questions that deal with the same topic. because i learn more that way

For what you need, I would reccomend a clutch of your choice not Spec. A fidanza flywheel and some OEM Nissan VLSD.

A flywheel wont necesarily get more power to the ground, as much as it will get you more response. The Kaaz 2-Way wont allow more output that is worth the money of it, unless youll be drifting or track racing(AutoX, Road Course...)

Being curious. What's wrong with Spec clutches?

Anyways, I agree with the flywheel. It'll help make the engine more responsive. Clutches, I had an Exedy stage 2 and it worked great for me. This time I was thinking of trying out the Spec myself. I say go with an aluminum driveshaft and a S15 HLSD. I just got myself one. Can't wait to put on and see what all this extra grip everyone is talking about.

Well, I know a few KA-T guys, they dont hold what theyre "rated" to. Life was short. I think if you buy a stage or 2 ahead of your "torque range" youll be fine.

are s15 lsds cheeper? then other ones. where can iget an aluminum drive shaft. so a lighter weight flywheel will help with getting off the line. whats the diffence between a spec clutch and any other, would any of you guys get one of ebay? they are pretty cheep. so i gess you get what you pay for probly. this is probly a part of my car i dont want to go cheep on.

vlsd or hlsd which is better? 14.5lb flywheel or a 9.5 flywheel? whats wrong with a spec clutch. my car will be making about 450 at the fly wheel maybe moore when i am done with all of my mods to the engine. i want to make it so i lose as little of the poer as possible between the crank and the ground.

I have the fidanza flywheel...

Id reccomend a 14.5lb flywheel for drag racing and 9.5 for anything else.

VLSD is cheaper and doesnt last as long. HLSD is more expensive but is better for grip driving rather than drifting so says the rumors.

You want 450CHP and youre saying soon to be an STi killer?

lol there are 3 stis in my town, and the kids that drive them think there hot stuff be cause they got an sti. but they have done no mods. or anything to them. one has an exhaust but that is it. so i mean that locally lol. there arnt to many real tuners around here, just little rich kids who buy a car because it is fast then brag it up. but back to the lsd. i was looking at a Kaaz 2 way limited slip and i havent decided which fly wheel yet. probly the fidanza. but the clutch is the main question. i am not sure what one to get. someon on this forum said spec ones wernt good. but i dont know.

the set up i am going with should put down about 400hp at the wheels. i was just taking a guess at how much that would be at the flywheel. so if i am making 400 at the wheels how much would i be losing through my fly wheel clutch drive shaft and rear differential? it is that dsifference that i am trying to cut down on. making my car lose as little power as possible between the fly wheel and the wheels.

I usually add 30-50 HP for the estimated CHP. Youre not losing it, its all there. Its just that its more readily available and responds better. All the HP is there technically just takes more momentum to yield it.

I'd definitely go with the guys who actually make those clutches, guys like Cltuchnet or RPS. I saw guys at Clutchnet assembling those discs, and it looks real cool..Clutches on EBay are tricky, you don't know what you're getting, unless they sell a brand name clutch already, somehow they get a better deals buying them from the manufacturers and sell them on EBay.

I got practically everything from Phase2Motortrend. They price matched and beat most prices.

I got my clutch and flywheel through them.

I let my clutch go 500ish miles to be safe. I think it was broke in at 200-300. But better safe than sorry.
