I just got my 240 running(FINALLY!) and upon inspection with my friend yesterday, I could turn the clutch fan by hand. No big deal, right? Except the pulley was going with it. WTF? Has my water pump had it, or is it time to get electric fans? I've been wanting to convert to electric just as a precaution.

Go e-fans, it gives you a little more hp and it makes the engine bay look cleaner

Nah the pulley is fine, the pulley itself doesn't have anything restricting rotation like the fan clutch. If your car's overheating and mysteriously losing coolant then yes it may be your water pump, if that was the case.. been there

I have a couple extra fan clutches and stock fan and electric fan btw..

HAH! Wait a minute! Op what you're saying is that when you rotate the clutch/fan the pulley does too. dur, it should, because if it rotated freely seperate from the pulley then it wouldn't have the 'holding power' to turn with the pulley, see?.. so it's fine I tink

Ah, si si.I figured out the power steering pump has locked up, shredding the belt treads, and is probably not turning the water pump fast enough.Or does that not make sense?
