I had to replace my water pump last week, everything went smooth (hr. and 1/2). Filled the coolant, bled the system and ran it for a half hour. Everything seemed fine, so that was that. Not QuiteThe next day i'm running around, and leave my car running for 1 min. and come back to find it at redline on the heat gauge. I asked a mechanic about it while I tried to track down a 10 milly wrench to rebleed, and he said that i needed to replace my clutch fan when replacing the water pump.

-- when i've been running it since, i get some nasty clicks and taps from the engine bay (I don't think its my timing chain) could an off balance harmonic balancer or clutch fan cause these noises?- I doubt I blew a head gasket--no smoke at all

thank you for any help
