I have 2004 G35 manual 6-speed with 9,000 miles and the clutch was gone after a year. I was born in Europe and have driven with manual all my life for 40 + years and have never had that propblem after one year with any car before.

Any simillar experience?

I'm the second owner on a '03 coupe. The dealer replaced the clutch and trans due to a noisy throwout brg at 12K miles. I now have 22K and am not thrilled with the sounds coming from the new clutch. I've also driven manuals all my life and I'm not hard on clutches. ???

I have a 2004 G35 and I have not had any clutch problems yet at 29,000 miles. I feel as my throwout bearing is noisy but Infiniti says they can't hear anything....errr....

Welcome to NICO everyone.

This has been the largest are of complaints for the 03 and 04 G35's. They have had some transmission and clutch problems. There are several threads around here regarding these issues.

That's what I hear. They put in a better transmission and smoothed out the clutch.

So is it possible that if you do need a new clutch and or transmission at some point to just go ahead and order one for an 05? I'm assuming most parts are interchangeable.

That is what a lot of people are doing. Are you still covered by warranty? I believe the dealers have been replacing transmissions with the 05 if they go out.

The 2004 g35 seems to have a legit problem. I too have driven manual transmission cars since I started to drive and since I've had my g35 I've had to change my clutch twice. I bought it @ 14 k miles and changes it @ 30 k miles and am having to change it soon and I'm at 60 k now. I had a toyota corolla for 240,000 miles and a honda accord for 200,000 miles and NEVER changed the clutch on either. I'm thinking about calling corporate while I still have the powertrain warranty and giving them a piece of my mind. Anyone ever try anything like this? Any success?

Welcome to NICO! You resurrected this thread from 06...some of the members that posted are gone. But, please update the board with your findings! I had my clutch replaced at 20k, but it was done because my transmission was being replaced...I decided to put on an aftermarket setup while they had the car on the lift (labor was cheap!).
