I have been told that you are suppose to step on the clutch all the way down before shifting into gears. Then I hear that you can step on the clutch half way down until it engages. Do you think it will be bad if its half way stepped?

generally speaking you need to go to the floor with the pedal, if you get full disengagement at half pedal ewither the pedal is adjusted too high or already worn out, and unless you want to replace the clutch soon, you'll want to take advantage of the full pedal travel to get complete disengagement, the thing you need to realize si that for all that pedal travel you are only moving pressure plate itself about 1/8 of an inch
