I bought this car about a week ago, my first 240. The clutch doesn't return all the way, I can pull it up 1-2 inches, after I release it. I replaced the master and slave, and bypassed the dampener. I then bled the lines. No affect, it feels the same.

Could it be the bearrings? or do I need a new clutch?

My clutch used to do that with the last one i had installed. If i would redline it and dump it into the next gear, the clutch would only come back to the release point. When i put the latest in, it stopped doing it. But for some reason the pedeal is really soft. I think it could be something with the spring because the clutch engages good.

Did you adjust the pedal when you put in the new M/C? Also try bleeding again.

didn't adjust the pedal, I had a mechanic friend take it around the block, he thinks that I need a new clutch, which I might agree, I can't even slip the clutch and spin the tires.

when you installed the new M/C, did you just bolt it up? I have never seen a clutch m/c come from a store/dealership with the pushrod thr right length. Try adjusting it, and see where that gets you before dropping the money on a new clutch.
