Okay the clutch engages fine but it needs to be double or tripple clutched to get into first or reverse properly. Once its disengaged and your into gear it will feed out and grip just fine. New slave cylinder (broke the old rusted one) still has the crappy rubber line and an old master cylinder. Free play in the pedal seems like its maybe 1-2mm in excess.

Our plan of attack:Replace rubber hose and rebleedReplace master cylinder, rebleedfiddle with the clutch pedal.

Its a 1990 240sx with RB20DET and 300zx N/A clutch, 240sx slave cylinder, new throw-out bearing. (we decided to 'throw out' the old one hahahaha hahaha im so funny oh man!)

The pedal feel is also abnormally light (with KA and RB), my '89 240 has a much stiffer pedal.

adjust the pedal before you start replacing parts.

1. is there gear oil in the gearbox?2. ditch the bleeder box, i would say that 90% of bad clutch engagment stems from that damn box.

It has Mobil 1 75w 90 in it, 3 quarts. I tell my friend who's buying this car to buy 3 quarts and he put all 3 in the trans before i got there. The KA takes 2.4 quarts but i dunno how much the RB20 trans takes. It shifts silky smooth about half the time, the other half the clutch doesnt release right.

yeah.that sounds like the bleeder box acting up.i bet it wasnt bleed properly.ditch it for a SS line.cleans up engagement and has hella better pedal feel.

we couldn't bleed the bleeder box, the little bleeder bolt tore off, it was all rusted. Didnt bleed the box on my grey 240 when i changed the operating cylinder, and that clutch works really well. I guess that box has got to go, and a SS line needed.
