Cant decide between the ACT street/strip clutch that holds 372ftlbs, or just man up and get the unsprung 6 puck. Eventually lookin to push around 400whp but for now just going to keep it a stockish setup. This isnt my daily driver either. How bad is the engaugement on the unsprung disc?

sorry to jack you thread but i have a badley slipping clutch and i need a replacment soon. i need help choosing between centerforce, act or zoom. i have heard good things about act clutches. i can only get a c/f dual friction from my boy right now , but i have heard they will cause your car to bog if you launch in boost. ive only heard that someone is using a zoom clutch with the rb25det but i got no review of performance as it was second hand info. what route would you guys go act, centerforce, or zoom. i know i should just buy the exedey but i just bought a brand new house (im low on cash) and these three cost half as much. let me know what you guys think . (mildly upgraded, weekend m3 killing; daily driven s13 coupe with rb25det motor set and trans j30 diff. just under 300whp and 280ftlbs)

I have the ACT unsprung 6-puck.... It's kinda rough for daily driving, I guess they make the 6-puck sprung, I might switch to that after I take my car down for the winter.

I have the nastiest sprung 6 setup I could get from ACT.

IMO perfectly driveable, but not something to try in the winter. I am winter car shopping as of now.

ns3-hdg6. that is the part number if anyone is wondering for acts heavy duty 6 puck sprung clutch kit, it will not come with a throw out bearing, but spec makes one and they are usually instock, i have this clutch and its a lil stiff but not bad after about 3 days of driving, i like it alot!

zooms work pretty good. they have held up really good on our teams street cars and drifting. i was surprised. they are not too stiff so thats a plus. driftbrothers.com

I suggest an OS twin this way you dont have to woory about yours clutch for some time. If you decide to make more power you the clutch to take it.

i ordered a zoom clutch kit and light weight aluminum flywheel. the fly wheel has a replacable friction surface. my father is an old muscle car guy and mechanic, he says he had used zoom clutches on some of his cars back in the day. he says the car will break before the clutch ill let everyone know how it goes in and also how it works.
