so, heres the story, the past two clutches i have installed on my car, the same thing has happened. when i let the clutch out to go, it starts to grab (and it grabs just fine) then it shakes my whole car until the clutch is all the way out. has anyone else had this problem? i also noticed that my motor mounts are starting to go but it seems like that would make it shake every time i hit the gas. its only when i start in first.

clutch chattering = motor mounts, oil dirt or grease on pressure plate, leaks from rear of engine on flywheel, or warped or improperly balanced flywheel or imperfections on flywheel. Since it has happened 2 times, check these other sources for solutions.Did you have the flywheel resurfaced?

i had the flywheel resurfaced on the last clutch i installed but i thought it was in good enough condition to put another clutch on it. you make a very good point, it makes alot of sense. what can i do about it? take it off again???? resurface it again? weak, but if thats what i gotta do, its gotta be done.

When they resurface it, have it checked with a dial indicator for true.

I have the same problem. When I first drive the car, everything is fine, but then after 40 minutes of driving, engaging is very hard. The only way I can get it to engage without shaking the car would be to rev a little higher than I normally would. Also, this still happened after changing my motor and transmission mounts with NISMO ones.

so it turns out, most of the shaking was because of a missing driveshaft bolt. not cool. there is still a little shaking, im sure this is the flywheel. sooooo much better now
