first off, its a ca equpped 180sx, if it matters. The car was origonally auto, and swapped for 5 spd. Knowing the previous owner, it may have been a hack job...

Something with my clutch blew tonight, i cant figure it out. I'm driving doing 50 km/h (35 miles? ish), low revs, go to shift into 4th, SNAP i hear it, and i can feel it in my feet, feels like when i pushed the clutch in it was hard, and then i snapped something, and now my clutch is stuck unengaged, and its like bent back behind my brake pedal. I can barely move my clutch peddle, and its completely unfunctional. It was dark, but it looked like there may have been fluid tripping from the clutch line under the hood, right down near the transmission. So had to get a tow. I'm HOPING, its just the pedal that broke off, or a line that broke or something, and not the clutch.

Sorry I guys I know this isn't much detail, im gonna take a look tomorrow when its light out, but any thoughts and or things to check?

EDIT: Dont know if it matters, but this clutch has always grabbed supperrr hard. Its an ogura racing clutch and very strong. Throw out bearing was chattering a little bit tho, and has been for a couple months, not too loud tho. Just thought I'd add more info.

Doubt the pedal broke but you need to get it in the light and do a better inspection.......check it a little better and post up an update...

If you see hydraulic fluid something blew, either the master on the driver's side, or the slave down below the transmission on the passenger side. Replace both master & slave if both are old, as the parts are cheap. Oh and get rid of the dampener box if you haven't already.

give you a major headache whenever a air bubble gets in it. worthless imo. my clutch pedal broke not long after I bought my 240. had to take it out, another pain, and have the metal frame rewelded. oh yeah, mine didnt leak any fluid, stumped on that one.

lol I've even had a mechanic say that he didn't know what nissan was thinking when they put that box in. I replaced it with a stainless steel line that goes straight from the Master cylinder straight to the slave cylinder easy to bleed, more of a reaction time and it gave me a stiffer pedal

I just had the same thing happen on my SR20DET equipped 240 this week. Problem ended up being the slave cylinder on the side of the transmission. Mine was easy to spot due to the amount of fluid all over the ground. Check your master cylinder and see if you have any fluid left in it. If not then there is a good chance you blew the slave cylinder. I replaced mine with the Nismo one and it is like having a completely different car. Hope this helps.

the pivot ball broke in my transmission and had the exact same problem. Its like a 5 dollar part from nissan or you can take it off the ka trans if you have one laying around.

good luck man!
