Alright heres how it is, i was break torqueing one day, had the clutch in, brakes in, and revved it up to about 4k rpm's, let off the clutch, didnt have the gas in far enoufh so my rpm's dropped and my tires wernt spinning, so i quickly dropped the clutch and let it off again, my friend was going back into his house, said he seen smoke coming from under the car. after that the tires did spin and about 10ft up i couldnt accelerate much. Now in first gear it doesnt accelerate till about 2-2.5k rpm's, in second gear its about the same, first gear accelerates the most, 2nd soesnt accelerate much, 3-5 dont at all. my friend and everyone he talks to says its definitaly the clutch and might also be the pressure late and maybe some other things. One of my friends i talked to say it is just the clutch. When accelerating it feels like the clutch isnt disengageing all the way. I can shift 1-5th and into reverse. i can however only get up to about 25mph. Can someone tell me if it is just the clutch or if it possibly could be more....

buy a new clutch and you might as well get a heavy duty pressure plate too. good luck.

Does the motor rev up while the car doesn;t accelerate as fast as the RPM's of the motor indicate it would?

yeah, its the clutch. i tore mine up doing a power brake (yeah, im a retard) where you let the clutch out while you ahve the brake in and you spin the s*** out of the tires...except see, the car never moved, it just revved up to about 7800 (past redline) and the clutch was fully disengaged...needless to say, my clutch was almost worn down to the metal...advice? DONT POWERBRAKE UNLESS YOU HAVE TONS OF TORQUE!!!!

yes, its your clutch, when i replaced my clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, etc., everything was back to normal and i was back to owning mustangs and firebirds. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT JOB! it was a helluva ***** for me.
