Hey, I've asked this question a few times, but never got a real good answer, so before I go out and buy parts, I'd like to know how to figure out the problem. The problem is when shifting from first to second my gearbox will grind slightly, except it's not going into second. It like happens after I pull out of first and about to go into second and once I'm in second it will stop grinding. Also, this has happened in traffic a few times, when I'm in first and slightly let off the clutch to ride it and push the clutch in all the way, the gearbox will grind and continue to make the noise until I'm in neutral AND let off the clutch. I have an Exedy stage II clutch and is it because of the extra pressure from the upgraded clutch? I recently replaced the master/slave cylinder and got a SS braided hose, yet the problem kept persisting. I assume if I took out the transmission I could figure out the problem, but does anyone have an assumption of what the problem could be? What parts usually need to be replaced when upgrading to a grabbier clutch? Thanks in advance.

i'd say put in some quality gear oil in first if you haven't yet and see where that takes you

Sounds a lot more like your transmission is having problems. My opinion:worn synchros.worn or bent shift forks.clutch not fully dis-engaging with pedal down.

Normally I would say that either the synchros are shot or the clutch is not fully dis-engaging, but that part where you mention it grinds in neutral until you let the clutch out is an odd one.If you take the transmission out for any reason, you may as well get it rebuilt. It will eliminate one of the diagnosis problems.
