What are good brands for both? i am going to have to replace the pilot bearing and i figure if i have to replace it i will replace the clutch and flywheel with it since im down there. whats the best bang for the buck? im thinking about the fidanza 11lb flywheel but not sure. clutches i really dont know what to get. its totally stock so this would be the first performance upgrade done in an attempt to just fix my car (trying to get everything fixed and operational before proceeding with any real mods). thanks in advance.

on a side note what is a good short shifter? i was thinkin of getting the b&m.

Im in the same boat, my pilot bearing makes this awful noise when i step on the clutch, so i need to get that changed, also supposdly my flywheel is not good b/c when i put it in gear it tends to "bounce" at low rpms. all i've heard is if you go with too light a fly wheel you will have electrical problems, is that true????

no. but if you go with too light a flywheel you run into performance losses because theres no weight to be flung around.

dont go with too light flywheel. you'll rev way easier, but car will be jerky and it will not be smooth at all.

lightweight flywheel is good at open throttle for racing purposes. in a stock vehicle 20% reduction in flywheel weight is enough.

plus its going to be easy to stall from dead stop. since low rotational mass, thus less torque.

as for clutch. i have clutchmasters stage 1 and love it. its just a bit harsh when its cold, and short engagement distance, but its good to spin on 2nd gear.

even stage 2 is ok for daily driving.

the whole myth about a jerky car and difficulty getting started are false with a lw flywheel. it comes down to the driver adapting their style to the cars modified behavior. its not the cars fault the driver has to relearn how to use the left pedal properly.

i have a fidanza and a clutchmasters cluth. no problems with either to date.
